HOUGHTON ARCHERS “252”IMPROVEMENT AWARD
Houghton Archers are keen to encourage all members to develop their archery skills and have introduced a ‘252’ Award Scheme, which is designed to help you practice and improve your shooting at different distances and recognise your achievements.
The ‘252’ Award Scheme in use at many archery clubs in the UK and applies to all archers, irrespective of age, ability or bow type.
THE RULES
- OBJECTIVE – To score 252 or better (varies by bow types, see table below).
On payment of £2, the individual receives an Award Badge.
TARGET SIZE – 122cm target face,
SCORING – 5-zone scoring (Gold = 9, Red = 7, Blue = 5, Black = 3, White = 1)
SIGHTERS – 6 arrows, followed immediately by the specific number of arrows
NUMBER OF ARROWS –
36 arrows (3 dozen) for all Bow types.
AWARD DISTANCES – 20, 30, 40, 50, 60, 80 or 100 yards.
Awards can be shot for in any sequence
TO CLAIM AWARD
Qualifying scores for a given distance must be shot on different days
Adult must achieve the score twice, Juniors once.
Adults must submit, two signed and witnessed scorecards and Juniors one scorecard, to the Club’s Records Officer who will verify the claim and the award.
